Hi Stephanie,
You are right, Mary Dyer was a Quaker when she was hanged by the Puritans. She came to Massachusetts Bay Colony in the mid 1630's as part of the Great Puritan Migration but changed her religious beliefs following the ex-communication and banishment of her dear friend, Anne Marbury Hutchinson and her 80-plus supporters ... including then Puritans, William and Mary Dyer. The action by the Puritan leadership undoubtedly contributed to her becoming a member of The Society of Friends.

Just one quibble with your discription -- Mary Dyer was not a Puritan, she was a Quaker. She was executed by the Puritans.

About post publishing on Facebook, may I suggest you to give a try to Wordbook? Is a lot better than normal notes: it publish Post's excerpts on your minifeed history. Your friends, when they click on the title or on the "more" link, are redirected to your original post.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordbook/

The only issue (Facebook should be blamed for that) is that friends can still write comments to the feed item.

(by the way, I'm not related to the plugin: I'm just a user ;)

Joan! How wonderful to have your comment. As expected, you would choose the opposing point of view because of too much governmental intervention in our lives. If I am lost, I count on law enforcement using my cell phone to find me. And, if it's going to require thousands more in tax dollars to get a helicopter, K9 units and extra police, I for sure want them to use the cell phone ... it only needs to be turned on for a few minutes, it doesn't have to be turned on permanently. I guess we could just let people stay lost ... no cell phones and no additional spending! Regardless, glad to see your comment!

What a load of crap this is, and uncritical thinking, as well. The man should have paid his bills (if he wanted to be found).
As it is, it would have been a violation of his privacy to reverse-engineer his location from his cell phone GPS.

Think of it...should the government have the right to figure anyone's location, at any time, based on their cell phone?

Absolutely not. I object to their using the cell phone GPS without authorization, also. Another instance of big brother stepping in. It's ludicrous to suggest Verizon should be subject to legal repercussions because of this.

Hi Cyndi,

I am the Executive Producer of a feature film called The Graduates, a coming-of-age comedy. Our film is opening this weekend at The Astoria Beer Garden, in NYC. I wanted to invite you to come out, and to put this on your radar because we're opening in a bunch of cities over the next few months, and releasing online and on DVD at the same time. Also, Robin Williams' son Zak makes his feature film debut in The Graduates. Is it cool if I send you some info about the film and our opening?

We're self-distributing, for the most part, so we're doing a lot of cool things with social media, alternative venues, viral marketing, etc. and I think fans of indie film and indie filmmakers would find it pretty cool and informative.

Thanks,
Matthew Gielen

Dear Cyndi:
We are still looking for an Asst. Clinical Professor in animation at Purdue University. The candidate should have industry experience, be able to teach Maya and 3D modeling, initiate industry relationships with the department, lead the SIGGRAPH student group, help with portfolios, and work on the vision of the curriculum. The candidate does not have to write grants, publish in scholarly journals, or have a Ph.D. We do need a Master's Degree. Got any more leads?
