The Project Greenlight film The Battle of Shaker Heights has already outsold last year’s PGL film, Stolen Summer. According to Box Office Mojo, BOSH has grossed $186,599 in theatrical release. IMDB puts the gross for Stolen Summer at $119,841 plus an additional $18,288 from Hong Kong (that’s $138,129).
BOSH was no doubt aided by having been edited as a comedy AND by having the release of the film coincide with the broadcast of the HBO series. The per screen average has risen slightly (from $8513 to $$9,406 ) as it has opened in 8 new markets. It has also risen from the 55th ranked film to the 44th.
