I am a college professor. I teach computer graphic arts. Today is the start of spring break. I don’t know who loves it more, the students or the faculty. By mid-term, we really need the break. I’ve been teaching Photoshop, Quark, Illustrator, Director, Flash, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects and such since 1989. I teach for one of the largest community colleges in Arizona. Our campus has over 24,000 students. My program has more than 350.
Today, I am obsessing about making an independent digital film. I’ve been checking out film schools (New York Film School and Los Angeles Film School). The six-week digital film course at NYFA is $3500. The same course at LAfilm is $6500 but you get to keep the digital camera.
I’ve been attending the Sundance Film Festival off and on since 1996. I made a short film and entered it a few years ago. Now I want to do something bigger.

I have a BA in communications and currently working. I am interested in possibily becoming a computer graphic arts professor. Any sort of tips of information you have to share? What should my next step be in order to become a professor? Thank you! -L
