Well, we did go to war last night. My niece is in the Air Force in Germany. My brother is in the National Guard (formerly Army). Selfishly makes one hope for a quick conclusion to the conflict. I was sad to be an American yesterday. If I were in any other country, I would be concerned about the power that the U.S. wields (aggressively) in the world.
I spoke with my nephew in L.A. last night. He reminded me that, historically, war has always been good for the film industry.

I am a college professor. I teach computer graphic arts. Today is the start of spring break. I don’t know who loves it more, the students or the faculty. By mid-term, we really need the break. I’ve been teaching Photoshop, Quark, Illustrator, Director, Flash, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects and such since 1989. I teach for one of the largest community colleges in Arizona. Our campus has over 24,000 students. My program has more than 350.
Today, I am obsessing about making an independent digital film. I’ve been checking out film schools (New York Film School and Los Angeles Film School). The six-week digital film course at NYFA is $3500. The same course at LAfilm is $6500 but you get to keep the digital camera.
I’ve been attending the Sundance Film Festival off and on since 1996. I made a short film and entered it a few years ago. Now I want to do something bigger.

My first post. Trying to figure out how this works. I am doubting that anyone will ever read this but it is amusing to write anyway. It just looks so darn good when it gets on the page. I spent so many years writing screenplays that no one read, at least with this type of writing there is a chance that someone will stumble on it.
